Loss of Housing

If your family is staying with a friend or relative due to loss of housing, economic hardship or a similar reason, you may qualify for additional help under the McKinney-Vento Act. McKinney-Vento exists to remove barriers to school success when a family is going through a hard time.

For more information, please contact our Merrill M-V Liaison Katlin Gehringer to discuss your situation by calling 989-643-7231, Ext. 272 or via email at gehringer@merrillschools.org

Homework Support

Homework can be stressful for both parents and students. However, the positive impact of additional time spent on learning is proven. Setting aside a specific time and place to study promotes self-discipline and gives students an opportunity to reflect and revisit on the day’s learning. Sometimes, students may need additional support at home in order to reach success. Teachers have compiled a list of resources for students to access teaching material outside of the classroom setting to enhance and support learning.
