The students in Mrs. Gagne's Kindergarten class recently released their classroom butterflies after observing the transformation from caterpillar to butterfly. This hands-on experience allowed the students to learn about the metamorphosis process in a fun and educational way. #WeAreMerrill #VandalPride

This past Saturday, K-3 Lego Club students attended their annual competition. Students had an amazing time exploring robots, building with Legos, presenting their skills to judges, and completing many STEM activities. Students took home trophies and medals in ¨Terrific Teamwork¨, ¨Innovative Inquiry¨, ¨Fantastic Building Design¨ and programming skills. Way to Go! #WeAreMerrill #VandalPride

The 3rd grade students had a blast on their field trip to Chippewa Nature Center last week! They had so much fun learning about nature and exploring the outdoors. It was a great day of hands-on learning and adventure. #VandalPride #WeAreMerrill

The elementary students had a fantastic time viewing the solar eclipse yesterday. They were all so excited and amazed by the experience. It was a great opportunity for them to learn about the science behind it all too. #WeAreMerrill #VandalPride

We had a blast at our March is Reading kick-off assembly today! Author, Kathy Diebold, read her beautiful book and the students were able to give the Competitive Cheer team a nice send off and good luck wishes! We played some fun games and announced the winner of the Johnathan Rand Fundraiser Challenge....SLIME the Principal! Over $1240 was raised to bring Johnathan Rand to our school! #VandalPride #WeAreMerrill

Elementary Families: March is Reading Month starts Friday! There has been a change to the schedule for March 1st due to the early dismissal. Our kick off assembly with Kathy Diebold will be at 10am now instead of 2pm. Also, please let us know if you can attend the Family Literacy Night on March 7th from 5:30-6:30 with cartoonist, Duane M. Abel. Either by returning the flyer from the March is Reading packet or email Jane O'Dell at odell@merrillschools.org with how many will be in attendance. It will be a fun event for all!

Our Johnathan Rand Fundraiser is going strong. Let's keep the momentum going! We have raised over $900 so far and are getting closer to reaching our goal of $1,500!
